Privacy policy
Project Atlas is a Chrome extension operated by C&J Studios. This policy explains the data used by the extension, billing service, and optional Pro backup.
Browser data processed locally
Atlas uses open-tab URLs, titles, favicon references, pinned state, window membership, and tab position to provide organization, duplicate detection, context saving, and restoration. This processing happens in the browser. Atlas does not read page bodies and does not send tab titles or URLs to an AI provider.
Local storage
Saved contexts, settings, installation identifiers, encryption material, and signed entitlement data are stored in Chrome local extension storage. Removing the extension may remove this local data.
Pro billing
Stripe processes checkout, payment methods, invoices, taxes, subscription state, and the billing email. Atlas receives Stripe customer, subscription, price, and status identifiers needed to grant Pro access. Atlas does not receive complete card numbers.
Encrypted backup
When a Pro user chooses Sync now, Atlas encrypts the backup in the browser with AES-GCM. The service receives ciphertext and synchronization metadata. The encryption key remains in browser storage and is not sent with the backup.
Infrastructure and retention
Cloudflare hosts the API and encrypted data. Billing and entitlement records are retained while needed to operate subscriptions, prevent fraud, resolve billing issues, and meet legal obligations. One-time activation codes are stored as hashes and expire after 30 days.
Your choices
Local features require no Atlas account. Pro users can manage payment methods, invoices, and cancellation through Stripe’s customer portal in Atlas Settings. You can remove local extension data by uninstalling Atlas or clearing its storage.

Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. For billing support, use the contact path included in your Stripe receipt or customer portal.
